My motivation to accompany children and young people on their way to life and education quickly led me to teacher training after my Abitur. For a long time, I searched for the right combination of my teaching subjects with a component of supportive pedagogy until I noticed the special degree programme ‘Teaching qualification with integrated supportive pedagogy’ at the University of Siegen. After the regular study of "educational sciences with integrated support pedagogy" and the two teaching subjects, one obtains the teaching qualification for the selected school type with support pedagogical profile, as content-related links to the funding priorities have already been established here. Building on this, it is possible to achieve a second master's degree with two further semesters, which additionally qualifies you for the "Teaching qualification for special educational support with the focus on learning and emotional and social development". After completing the second master's programme, you can choose between positions at primary schools or primary, secondary, secondary and comprehensive schools as well as for special education teachers. This was the decisive reason for me to choose the University of Siegen as a place of education, where I quickly settled in and felt comfortable. The size of the city, the university and the courses allows you to quickly find your way around and creates a family atmosphere among the students and with the lecturers. Through many university offers of the learning workshop and the oasis, it is possible to network with other fellow students, to seek advice and to acquire the LehramtPLUS certificate by participating in workshops and excursions. Thus, you feel in good hands at all times and the start of university life is made easier.
I would always choose the University of Siegen and I am happy if you choose Siegen as your place of study.

Master programmes
At the University of Siegen, it is possible to obtain two full-fledged (i.e. double-qualifying) master's degrees:
- Teacher training at primary, secondary, secondary and comprehensive schools
- Teacher Training for Special Needs Education
Based on a 10-semester course of study Teacher training at primary, secondary, secondary and comprehensive schools with integrated support pedagogy (6 semesters Bachelor and 4 semesters Master), in which courses with a content-related connection to the funding priorities "Emotional and Social Development" and "Learning" are already studied, the subsequent 2-semester Master "Teaching for Special Educational Support" enables the additional acquisition of the teaching qualification for Special Education with the funding priorities "Learning" and "Emotional and Social Development". An important goal of this course of study is the intensive preparation of prospective teachers for dealing with pupils with behavioural problems and learning impairments in inclusive learning groups and at special education schools.
