Education is undoubtedly one of our most valuable assets. It makes it possible to set clear goals after school and to draw on a wealth of knowledge to achieve these goals. The opportunity to support people on this path is an extremely important task for me.
In 2019, I therefore made the decision to leave my hometown of Cologne and start a course of study for teaching at grammar schools and comprehensive schools with the subjects English and Catholic religion. My eyes quickly turned to the University of Siegen.
Teachers will always be an indispensable and integral part of our society. At the University of Siegen, we are optimally prepared for this future. In addition to numerous NC-free subjects, it offers a wide range of teaching subjects with a wide range of possible combinations. Furthermore, there is a cooperation with the German Sport University Cologne, which even allows the choice of sports as a school subject!
The University of Siegen is characterized by cohesion, participation and listening. Both the city and the university radiate a fascinating attraction. Here one is not only a number, but is perceived as an individual personality. The lecturers are always on hand to help with questions and problems. Through the introductory and orientation internship (EOP), the occupational field internship (BFP) and the practical semester (PS), you already gain insights into everyday school life during your studies and gain valuable experience in the teaching profession. Through the learning workshop teacher training, where I myself may work as a SHK, you have the opportunity to take advantage of numerous offers to expand your own horizons, to network and sometimes to switch off. This also includes the Teacher Training Programme (LehramtPLUS), which offers exciting workshops and lectures. I highly recommend studying at the university and look forward to seeing you on campus in the future!
